Does anyone know of any second-hand bookshops dealing with litterature
about Scottish and Ayrshire history that they can recommend?

Hi Chris,

When we were at Largs they have a little bookshop on the main street next to the shops, and they have a lot of old books in it, it is worth a look.

The Salvation Army shop in Dockhead Street, Saltcoats has a section
for antiquarian books, they have a different theme every couple of
weeks, worth popping your head round the door and asking. Current
selection is on WW2 history, recent weeks have seen a James Bond
theme, Renaissance architecture, and the Suffragette movement. They
also have more modern fiction and non-fiction first editions including
signed copies.

Try Ainslie books in Girvan. It has an wide range. Trades on the internet
too.
