Having read that, Kilty, I'm now desperate for a pair of kippers. The tradition lives on - we're lucky enough to have a fish man coming to our door in Kilmarnock every week from Pittenweem. He must be doing well as he says he's never haddock so good.
@ Mary Devlin - were your cousins the Trousdales related to the great entertainer and Elvis impersonator, Tommy Trousdale?

I remember them well,i used to sell kippers round Glenburn Rows when i was young,singing ,,,,Kippers at 1/6d a pair.Was great round that way,sold hundreds lol.
