Hi

I came from the Glenburn Rows and lived in 178 in the back row, my
cousins the Trousdales lived in the middle row. There is a small cairn
dedicated to the rows the South Ayrshire Council put it there at the
request of Jackie
Young. My father was killed in 1960 in Glenburn Mine. The Cairn is
an important part of the history for the memory of the rows and those
who lived there.

Having read that, Kilty, I'm now desperate for a pair of kippers. The tradition lives on - we're lucky enough to have a fish man coming to our door in Kilmarnock every week from Pittenweem. He must be doing well as he says he's never haddock so good.

@ Mary Devlin - were your cousins the Trousdales related to the great entertainer and Elvis impersonator, Tommy Trousdale?

ATB,

Campbell Thomas
