Subject: Weekly Roadrunner Update 4/26

Hey Roadrunners!

Basics/Beginners practice is on for today from 4:00 to 6:30. However, it
looks like it will be too windy for us to get out on the water with winds
between 15 and 20 knots. We will have plenty of land activities but
practice may run a bit short today. Hope to see you all out!

On Saturday, we will be trying something a bit different. Due to low
attendance at the 4:00 Laser/Sunfish session, we will be combining both
classes. Green Fleet will practice at its usual time from 1:30 to 4:00, but
Sunfish and Laser sailors are invited to attend as well. This week I will
be setting a course and running a few races. I will have several starts to
accommodate any Laser/Sunfish sailors that show up. Please RSVP!

Free Sail Sunday continues to be a hit. Last week we had no wind but
several families still made it out to take advantage of the occasional puff
and the kayak! A reminder that Free Sail is open to all AYC members,
regardless of how active you are in the Roadrunner program. Also, please
keep in mind that I have to stay on the dock during the entire Free Sail
session to greet families, help rig, launch, etc. Sailors should be
experienced enough to take out a boat by themselves (or have a parent to
take them out!). Please come by between 1:00 and 4:00 this Sunday. If you
would like to sail, plan on arriving before 3:00 so you have enough time to
sail before heading back to the dock at 3:45 to derig and wrap up. If there
are no sailors by 3:00, I will take off so please be on time.

I have posted the tentative schedule for May below. Please keep in mind
that some events may be subject to change so check your email regularly.
May is our last month of Roadrunner sailing before we break for the summer
camp season. Again, I encourage all our Roadrunner sailors to sign up for
camp so they can get the most out of the summer on Lake Travis.

Hope to see you all this weekend!

Coach Kate
