LADY BIRD LAKE SAIL POSTPONED & Weekly Update 4/10

Hey Roadrunners!

Unfortunately, our Roadrunner sail on Lady Bird Lake, scheduled for this Sunday 4/14, will need to be rescheduled for a later date due to some permitting issues on Austin Sailboat Rental's end. I apologize for any inconvenience and will be sure to let you all know when we finalize the new date. There will be Free Sail Sunday at AYC from 1:00-4:00 in place of the event.

On a brighter note, the Roadrunner Regatta was a HUGE success! Our final number of competitors was 101! A big thank you to everyone who made this incredible weekend of youth sailing possible-- co-regatta chairs John Morran and Stefan Froelich, Cheryl Butler and Polly Peel for keeping us fed, our PROs Kelly Hawk, Ray Shull, and Barry Bowden, Vic Manning for crowd control on the point, Bill Hawk on registration, Renee Ruais for scoring, and Steve Gay for all his outstanding work in coordinating the FJ fleet-- and the many other volunteers who came out to lend a hand this past weekend. Our competitors faced strong winds on Saturday and some chilly temperatures on Sunday but did a great job! Congratulations to all our AYC participants-- Sam Hollenbeck, Ethan Froelich, Ben Froelich, Nicole Prado, Spencer LeGrande, Alexandra Mares, Charles Larrouilh, Jules Bettler, Sam Peel, Marcus Tita, Tony Slowik, Meredith Morran, Michael Morran, Nikki Goodwin, Will Abrams, Ricky Trent, and Rachel West. SATURDAY: 1:30-4:00 Green Fleet
                   4:00-6:30 FJ/Laser
SUNDAY:     1:00-4:00 Free Sail Sunday

• April 20: No practice for Green Fleet or Laser/FJ sailors. Participants are invited to attend the Scott Young Dinghy Start Clinic at no cost in place of practice. See the attached flyer for details. Please note that juniors do not have to register online but are required to RSVP via email to me.
