Hey Roadrunners!

Another week of great attendance and Roadrunner sailing! Thank you to all the junior sailors who came out to practice and to all of the parents who helped out with rigging, launching, crowd control, etc.

Please note that due to the US Sailing instructor certification course that is being held at AYC April 27-28 and May 4-5th, Saturday practices will meet in the AYC Clubhouse (instead of the Sail Training room) for chalk-talks again this week.

FRIDAY:       4:00-6:30 Basics/Beginners
SATURDAY: 1:30-4:00 Green Fleet
                   4:00-6:30 FJ/Laser
SUNDAY:     1:00-4:00 Free Sail Sunday

• May 12: Mother's Day Free Sail
• May 17: NO BASICS/BEGINNERS PRACTICE. Beginners are invited to attend Junior Big Boat Day on Saturday, May 18th instead. 
  
• May 18: Junior Big Boat Day 1:00-4:00. I am still looking for volunteers to take our juniors out on keelboat. If you would like to skipper your boat or help out with this event, please let me know. 
• May 24: LAST BASICS/BEGINNERS PRACTICE OF SPRING SEASON
  
• May 25-26: Turnback Canyon Regatta. We will be having a Youth Dinghy Course for Opti, Laser, and FJ sailors at this event! This is the last weekend of the Junior Sailing spring season.
  
• Remember to sign up for our Summer Programs! Registration for PB&J and our Junior Sailing Camp is open and filling up fast! Don't miss out! More information and registration here: http://www.austinyachtclub.net/training/summer

Lastly, I would like to begin using photos taken at our practices and events on our AYC website, social media sites, and marketing materials. If your child has participated in the junior program this spring, please complete the attached Photo Release Form and return it to me via scan/email, snail mail, or fax to (512) 266-9804. Or feel free to drop it off at the AYC office Tuesday-Sunday or bring it with you to the next practice. Please use "2013 Junior Sailing" as the event name.
