Weekly Roadrunner Update 4/4

Hey Roadrunners!
Thank you to everyone who made it out to practices this past weekend-- attendance continues to climb and the enthusiasm from all our participants has been amazing! Last Friday the wind was beautiful for our beginner sailors! We practiced sailing in a straight line, tacking, and even got to sail all the way across the lake to Cyprus Cove and back! Thank you to junior coaches Ben and Ethan Froelich and parent helper Drew Scheifele for taking some sailors out on the Picos. Also thank you to Stefan Froelich for helping out aboard the coach boat. The wind was finally right for us to set a course and get racing on Saturday! We had a great group of Roadrunner Regatta competitors out for Green Fleet practice. It was wonderful to see our veteran RWB Opti sailors helping out and sharing their knowledge with first-time Green Fleeters. We ran several races in shifty wind and got in some valuable practice in before the big regatta this weekend! Thank you to coach boat helpers Tony Slowik and Laura Hollenbeck! Our FJ group also took advantage of the wind for a Racing 101 chalk-talk and several races. Thank you to coach boat helpers Annamarie Dean and Cindie Stewart!

SATURDAY: ROADRUNNER REGATTA
No Practice
SUNDAY: ROADRUNNER REGATTA
No Free Sail Sunday
There is still time to sign-up for the Roadrunner Regatta! The Notice of Race and registration is available online at txsail.org.You will not want to miss out on this exciting youth sailing event! We are expecting close to 100 competitors from across Texas and the region. If your child is not participating, I encourage you to come on out and cheer on the Roadrunners or help out on one of our volunteer committees. If you would like to volunteer with set-up and/or clean-up for meals, please contact Cheryl Butler at r_cb...@yahoo.com.

Participants are invited to attend the Scott Young Dinghy Start Clinic
at no cost in place of practice. See the attached flyers for details. Please note that juniors do not have to register online but are required to RSVP via email to me.
