  Thanks for the quick responses Thomas and Marco. It looks like there &lt;br&gt; might be an issue with the 32-bit OpenJDK.   Figured it out... switching to the SUN JDK fixed it.   I&#39;m trying to setup axiom stack and just run the manage app and it&#39;s &lt;br&gt; erroring out right away. &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;I expanded the tar for axiom stack 3.2.9 and started the server by &lt;br&gt; running &amp;quot;start.sh&amp;quot;.   Maks, &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;There are a few methods that can be used here. &lt;br&gt; getObjects &lt;br&gt; getHits &lt;br&gt; getHitCount &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;The reason getHits adds those fields is because it&#39;s supposed to bring &lt;br&gt; back the ids.   But it does kind of make sense, as its just way to get how many &lt;br&gt; matches to a query instead of having to fetch all matching objects &lt;br&gt; into mem (as array) and then getting .length &lt;br&gt; And the sql its generating &#39;select count(*) is what i&#39;d expect, its &lt;br&gt; just adding the columns names, which is what causes the error.

  Maks, &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;Hits is actually a feature of Lucene and I&#39;d be surprised if you had &lt;br&gt; said it worked with a relational DB. We should probably fix up the &lt;br&gt; messaging and error out if your using it with non-Lucene objects. &lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt;Basically Hits are just pointers to the document rather than the full &lt;br&gt; document.
