I'm very new to away3d and currently going through Jens tutorials
([link]
_primitives_part_1/).
I noticed that in one of the early examples a triangle is created
where some of the initial properties are set using a verbose approach:
// verbose approach

 Eureka!
I looked around the core classes some more and found out how you can access the materials without knowing their names. This should be especially useful when you are using objects which you know only contain one material:
for each (var materialData:MaterialData in object3D.materialLibrary) {

 Could you compile your SWF as debug instead of release?
When you compile using the debug configuration, it should provide a line number, too, which should make it a lot easier to figure out which index is out of range.
You might also consider testing this model using Away3D proper, as this might be an Away3DLite specific issue.

 Hello dev'ers,
I've build some models in 3DsMax and exported them to an .obj file. I
want to convert these .obj files with Prefab to .as files. When I
display the .obj file in Prefab it seems that some parts of the model

 Since there are no classes yet available to generate flat meshes from clouds of points yet, you will have first to generate the flat shape first by hand.
Use the outter vertexes to feed either pathExtrude if you want a nice profile or simply use SkinExtrude.
Then use the Merge class to group both infos. You might need to duplicate top for a bottom info as well.
