APBuild
|
| |
Hi,
I was very sorry to hear that the Autopackage project is coming to an
end. I think it really is a great tool and has helped us in several
linux projects. I was wondering, is APBuild still going to be
available in some form? I had a brief look at Listaller, but I
couldn't see anything corresponding to this magnificent tool.... more »

The end of Autopackage
|
| |
Hi everyone, Unfortunately I have to tell you that Autopackage is now officially dead. I changed the front page: [link] But to not let all those work be wasted I'll try to merge most stuff (e.g. Apbuild) into the Listaller project. Matthias Klumpp already announced this on launchpad:... more »

copy files from cd
|
| |
Hi, I use autopackage to distribute my application. As a new
requirement I need to distribute it with some images in a cd.
I don't want the images inside my package, so I'd like to know if
there is any way to copy them from the cd when I install the
application.
I tried copyFile but I don't know the path where the cd is mounted.... more »

Don't Let Autopackage Die!
|
| |
Hi gang, I am so glad that you are still working on/discussing Autopackage. Please do not let it die! Autopackage is the ONLY user-friendly installer that allows a person to install programmes without touching Root account and works across distros. What is important now, in my humble opinion, is to make Autopackages play... more »

Memory leak in binreloc
|
| |
Hi everyone,
Good to see that autopackage is still going... I've been using
binreloc in particular on three much-used particle physics packages
for the last few years, and it's been *very* useful. However, in a
recent valgrind-type debugging and leak-squashing spree, we found that
a *lot* of leak messages were coming from binreloc. Not much in terms... more »

The ...Has there been any progress in fixing this problem yet? I'm sorry that I didn't send you the files that you requested, probably because I got sidetracked with other issues. Listaller
|
| |
Anyone heard of Listaller? Check it out: [link] What do you think of it? Can it replace Autopackage? Since the recent lack of development in Autopackage I'm considering becoming a Listaller developer. We could spread the word a little bit and reuse Autopackage code (e.g. apbuild).... more »

What do we need from POSIX?
|
| |
Hi
Some of the features we need for autopackage to work well are missing
from the underlying system.
An example that comes to mind is a way for a process or a library to
query its own filesystem path; Windows has GetModuleFileName() but
there's no standard API for this on *nix. BinReloc uses /proc/self/exe... more »

New Autopackage Website/Wiki
|
| |
Hi everyone,
I just created a first draft of what the new website could look like:
[link]
The important thing is: It's a Wiki. This way we won't need 2
different places anymore where to find information (website vs. trac).
Wiki markup is Creole: [link]... more »
