HI,

Just tried to use Autokey 0.81.4 in Mint 12 and Xfce. I followed tutorial

AutoKey : Linux Utility for Text Substitution , Hotkeys and
Desktop Automation

but I can't get the example to work, I found the statement "make sure
that the checkbox "Enable Expansions" is checked." I figured it must
be in the configuration window which one apparently gets to vial the
Hotkey:<super>+k. I issued "xmodmap -e 'keycode 115 = Super_L'" to
activate<super>. I think that worked to activate<super> but I still
can't get to the configuration window to show "Enable Expansion".

Perhaps there is a configuration file that I can set with an editor to
get the necessary setting? A way to hack the source?

I certainly would appreciate any suggestion. I would really like to try
the program.

Thanks in Advance,
Don

Don,

Hi. I've found that when I set the key that I click "set" and choose
the base key, then I click the buttons for the qualifiers, like alt
and super and finally ok. If I don't do it in that order the combo
doesn't register correctly most of the time. However, try using alt +
shift, see if you have success with that. Finally after you do all
that you have to hit "save".
