How could that be?? You mean that Willy Gates has screwed me up yet again? I just
can't believe it. <checking date/time>... <hmmmm>
I'm still on the edge though, but the meds should cut in soon.
OK, Anne. I reset things thanks to you.
And your choco-pecan pie was another winner this year. Maybe I'll post an skf in
CF to show what resulted...
Nahhh, some other time.
H
Exactly what sort of landscape symbols are you after Harvey....???
Regards,
Pipples.

Plant material, trees, shrubs, ground cover, in plan and elevation; walls, stones
of various shapes. I found a site that showed pretty much what I was after, 30 or
so pictures. I saved the entire bunch as a gif file. I'll zip it up and post it in
CF as "Landscape Pictures."
I'm in process of cropping each as a little pic (from LViewPro) and popping it
into AS v7. Then I'll trace each into the program and save it as a symbol. *Real*
PITA, and unless someone has done something like this before that can be
purchased, I'll continue.
The reason I'm doing this is that my wife is now involved in obtaining a landscape
design certificate from The New York Botanical Gardens in The Bronx, and I would
like her to have a wide variety of symbols to choose from - without having to
purchase some other kakmaymie cad program.
There are free trials of other software, supposedly developed for this purpose,
but I've already tried one of them and there's just so much unnecessary junk in
there - plus another set of protocols for me to learn and show my wife - that I
just don't want to do it. So I thought I'd try to use AS v7 or v6 for this
purpose.
H
See? I don't care *what* everyone else says about you people, you're all right by
me!
What I'll do is create a symbol library of these drawings and others I create, and
if Ric doesn't mind I'll pass them along to anyone interested. They'll be *.slb
files, you can size them as you wish. But give me time to aggregate/organize them.
H
With regard to not asking for any money....yer $ ain't doin' that well right
now....for you anyway.....!!! It's great for us.
Ric.

Thanks to Ric and a clever talented architect friend of mine (actually a minor
genius), I was able to collate a number of them quite easily. There are some
beautiful elevations of deciduous and evergreens, sitting/standing female/male
forms, children groupings, cars in all views, and plan views of all of that.
Anyone interested can respond here or to me directly, I'll zip up the library and
send it along as an attachment. You would have to resize and or regroup them to
your own uses, but be warned that they are already reasonably sized and shouldn't
require too much diddling. You probably can replace the existing Landscape folder
in the Symbol Library with this one, I think this has the all the existing symbols
supplied with the AS program but it would behoove you to check that first.
If you want to save the original Landscape folder, just rename the new one.

Maybe soon ADSK will have the group sorted out, but it's there right now as
"Landscape Library," you may have to search a bit for it.
Knock yourselves out, and thanks to Ric.
Everyone else, you're welcome.
H
Some are white lined, i.e. you may not be able to see them if you drag-and-drop
and then unselect.
The best way to handle this is to Explode the symbol (with the firecracker) and
then click on the black pen in the Properties toolbar. That converts the symbol to
whatever pen color you've selected (black I would presume). You can try saving
*that* as a symbol so it will come up in the pen color you want. It may not let
you so you may have to delete the symbol before saving. Figger that one out
yourselves.
About six or seven are that way. Sorry for the inconvenience. Yeah, right.
H
Thx,
HM
Is there any chance you would be able to send me a copy of that great landscape library you mentioned in an earlier message. It sounds exactly what I have been looking for.
I'd really love that.
Anyhow i must be off, I have to remove a koala from a tree near my window, he is keeping me awake.
Cheers
Ames

Like Anne says, email me directly and I'll be glad to send them along.
Many folks have asked and I've complied. Maybe I should attach them here
in a separate post as a zip...
Yeah that's what I'll do. Check messages further down, Ames.
Harvey
If you did post the zip it did not come through??
