NEW RELEASES

Valerie Sherrard (A) and David Jardine (I) There’s a GOLDFISH in my Shoe!: Oscar Ollie Brown may never understand his mother! If he did, he might be able to figure out why doing exactly what he’s told is not always a good idea. Jardine’s wild and quirky illustrations compliment this story of Oscar’s continuing confusion over the things his mother says to him.

Valerie Sherrard: Tumbleweed Skies: (Junior novel) A motherless child, a grandmother who cannot forgive, an injured magpie and a warm prairie summer ... Is there hope for this family to heal itself?

Mahtab Narsimhan: The Silver Anklet: What if the only way to get rid of your worst enemy was to sacrifice your brother? When hyenas snatch Tara's brother and two other children, Tara and her companions decide to rescue them. Tara’s nemesis, Zarku, is back and intent on revenge. Can Tara prevail armed only with belief in herself and a silver anklet?

Veronika Martenova Charles: Fairy Tales in the Classroom: Teaching Students to Create Stories with Meaning Through Traditional Tales. This ground breaking book provides teachers in early grades with practical approaches to maximize the potential of traditional tales with their students. It contains all the tools, suggestions and stories that teachers need to give their students life transforming experiences and a solid background for all their future writing.

FOREST OF READING NOMINEES!

Is your community planning a SPECIAL EVENT in celebration of the Forest of Reading programs?  In the past, overlapping dates have made it difficult to book nominees for these events.  We can help!  Let us know your plans and we can help coordinate dates and nominated guests for your celebrations!

We are pleased to help coordinate visits for the nominees listed below, who have opted to take advantage of the OLA’s arrangement to have ABS coordinate this year's bookings.  (This service is, as always, absolutely free to the OLA and hosting organizations.)

While Ontario-based nominees have general availability, many out-of-province nominees will be in Ontario in May for the Festival of Trees and are now accepting bookings for around that time.

Contact us today at a...@authorsbooking.com to book the author or illustrator of your choice.
