Secretary General's Message
Dear Colleagues
I bring you greetings from the Association of African Universities (AAU) Secretariat.
On the 3rd of June, 2020 the AAU participated in
a webinar organized by the Global Observatory titled “Internationalizing learning 2.0 - Policy perspectives”. The Global Observatory is a partner of the AAU and aims to create bridges among different regions of the world
via multi-lateral research and cooperation projects and initiatives.
On the 24th June 2020, under the Africa Higher Education Centers of Excellence for Development Impact project we launched a series of webinars to be delivered in French and English as part of the ACE Impact response to the COVID-19 pandemic. These
webinars are organized with the objective of enabling ACE Impact university instructors to integrate quality digital resources into their lessons and actively practice online teaching. The target audience is ACE Impact university professors and lecturers.
The AAU invites all Higher Education Stakeholders to a Webinar on quality assurance which will combine presentations and insights from renowned speakers. The Webinar will take place on the 2nd July 2020 (11am GMT) and will be graced by the AAU Secretary
General (Prof Etienne E. Ehile) and Her Excellency (Prof Sarah Agbor Anyang), who is the Commissioner of the African Union Human Resources, Science and Technology (HRST) Department. Kindly use the following link to register for the event: https://bit.ly/2N7z1BI
Senior Higher Education leaders are invited to participate in a WACREN organized “Service Outreach Workshop” that is being hosted in collaboration with GÉANT (pan-European RREN)
and RENATER (French NREN) to create awareness and foster interest in relevant Research and Education Network services available in the West and Central African region. The virtual workshop is slated for Tuesday, June 30, 2020, on Zoom from 9 am to 11 am UTC.
