Hi friends,
We are slowly moving over to use of HTML Pages output instead of/as well as Word>PDF. However, my manager really, really wants the topics to have numbered headings so that he can easily refer people to a specific heading number. The AIT KB says that AIT does not support this option, but I am wondering if anyone out there has developed a workaround?
Thanks in advance,
Debbie

Wow, that is such a bad idea and so not web friendly….they can just tell you the page number XYZ.html etc, or use a meta tag.
You could always maintain them by hand on the HTML Heading of the Web tab, but that seems painful at best and impossible at worst.
I don’t know of another workaround.
I have never seen anyone use it. Newspapers that have gone webby don’t have page numbers, neither do KBs….what is his source for thinking this is a good idea?

Isn't a good search engine one of the main reason for putting the help
online in the first place?
If he memorized the headings -why wouldn’t he also know the names of the
heading? If you tell someone to search for a specific topic heading, it will
be the first result in the search.
I don't really know what else to say, other than that he won't find another
help with headings numbers no matter how long he searches.
The next/previous buttons can be customized to show in both places. Shlomo
can do that for you if you need.
Be well,
