How do I remove "Chapter" super headings from each chapter in Word output?

Hi friends,

I'm working on a new book which I imported into a new (empty) library,
version 5.53. For some unknown reason, the print output contains a
frame above each Heading 1 with the word "CHAPTER" in it. It is
assigned the SuperHeading style in Word (2003). I have searched high
and low but cannot find how to cancel it. This option is switched off
in the TOC, the TOC template, the Chapter Section template, the
Chapter template, the Page Size template.

Any ideas how to get rid of it?

Thanks in advance,

Debbie

HI Debbie,
If you look in the Super Heading field of each topic, you will find that
even though it is blank in the template, it is in the topics themselves.
You'll need to go through the Chapter topics and delete the Super Heading
field which currently has Chapter in it one by one.

Be well,
Miriam

Hi Debbie,

When did you remove it from the Chapter template - before or after the topics were created? If it was after the topics were created, then you need to either:
1. Select all the topics based on that template and delete the word Chapter from the Print tab under Superheading.
2. Select all the topics based on that template, apply a different template to them, and then re-apply the Chapter template. (I haven't tried this, but  maybe it will work.)

Hi all, and thanks for the quick responses.

Avi Eliav (Pilcer) found the solution: go into the Chapter template
and in the Super Heading field, type one <Space> and then click OK.

BTW, I didn't change anything in the template before or after
importing. The import automatically assigned the Chapter template to
Heading 1 topics.

Have a great day,

Debbie

The import assigns Chapter template to topics based on H1 -only if you map
it that way, or leave it mapping that way in the import wizard. If you
change that option, you can have them import as normal/section/topic
templates or anything else.
