Style properties are applied to style it is based on

I created a style for my procedure intros based on the Body Text style. In the Procedure Intro style, I changed HTML > Font > Style from (normal) to Italic.

When I publish topics to HTML, text that is in Body Text style also comes out italicized.

Any thoughts?
