SHOCK jock Kyle Sandilands today said he would launch a legal fight to
overturn the Government's ban on entertainer Snoop Dogg entering
Australia.
Kyle and his Today FM sidekick Jackie O said they wanted to get him
into the country and began petitioning listeners.
Sandilands later told Channel Ten news that people were overreacting
and should not judge the singer "based on a quick Google search."
In Snoop's defence, Sandilands admitted the rap singer had once been a
criminal, but that those days were behind him.
He talked about his friendship with Dogg and claimed to have a car
waiting to ferry the rapper around.
Federal Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews announced yesterday he had
barred Snoop Dogg, who has a criminal record, from entering Australia
for Sunday's MTV Australia Video Music Awards.

Meanwhile, a Daily Telegraph Online poll shows the majority of our
readers are overwhelmingly in favour of keeping Snoop out of
Australia. Check it out and join in on our home page.
Dogg's Los Angeles criminal defence lawyer said today the singer
posed no threat to Australia.
"It's really too bad," Donald Etra, who represented Snoop Dogg in a
gun and drugs case in a Los Angeles court earlier this month, said.
"Snoop loves Australia and Australia loves Snoop."
GJ said Goes to show what a tosser Kyle is. The laws preventing
convicted criminals entering our country are there for good reason.
Seem to recall the USA did a similar thing to an Australian resident
not so long ago.
Snoop Doggie Doggs whole image is built around being a drug user and a
"gangsta" - his videos all have him smoking joints and imply all sorts
of other criminal activity by him and his posse as being "cool". Guys
like him are not good role models for young kids. His music sucks too
and has been goin downhill for years. Looks like reality and the law
are just catching up with him finally. MTV is becoming increasingly
irrelevant with their imported so called "stars". Kyle is an attenton
seeking tosser past his use-by date as well.

Radio reverend says Dogg does good work of the Lord
April 28, 2007 01:00am
Article from: The Daily Telegraph
MANY people would question the sanity of unleashing hip-hop bad boy
Snoop Dogg on a bunch of impressionable teens - but not 2GB radio
reverend Bill Crews.
Proving the Lord works in mysterious ways, the Uniting Church minister
yesterday appealed to Immigration Minister Kevin Andrews to approve
Dogg's visa so he could dissuade disadvantaged kids from a life of
crime.
Mr Crews revealed Dogg - real name Calvin Broadus - planned to talk to
homeless youths at The Exodus Foundation when he visited Sydney next
week before his visa was rejected by the Government due to his lengthy
rap sheet. Not concerned by Dogg's chequered past, Mr Crews said it
made him an ideal mentor for the teens.
"The very qualifications that make kids listen to him are the very
ones that make parents wish they wouldn't - it's always been that
way," he said.
"We work with kids that idolise him, if (Dogg) comes around and tells
them not to do drugs - they will listen."
Meanwhile 2DayFM brekkie host Kyle Sandilands, also involved with the
foundation, cancelled plans to fight the visa decision in court.
"We had all the barristers there and everything but we pulled out," he
said.
"There just wasn't enough turnaround time to get (Dogg) here going
through court."
But a spokeswoman for the Immigration Minister last night said the
impassioned pleas had not swayed the decision.
"He still hasn't been granted a visa," she said.
Good on Ya Bill !!!!!
I set my alarm Friday morning and it was accidentally set on 2DayFm so
I was hit with Kyle & Jackie O's tirade. Jackie complained that they
shouldnt judge Snoop on his history and past. History & past? He plead
no contest to criminal charges in court just a mere 2 weeks ago. And
then Kyle used examples of people the Governmemt have let into the
country. People affiliated with Al Quaida - fair enough there. And
Bill Clinton "even though he lied to the American Public". Ooh he lied
wow he could really do some harm to Australia's public. Seriously?
What a pathetic argument. These two don't deserve to be on air the
dribble they churn out. And Kyle taking it further to the media and
apparently court? Anything for some publicity. It was bad enough he
got engaged to his girfriend and then pitched the 'story' to a
magazine meawhile begs MTV to do a reality series on their engagement.
Ugh had enough on this guy. Fair enough if he had a valid argument or
something decent to say. Even on Aust Idol all he can comment is the
shallow - appearances. He has no clue about Music. Obviously didnt
know who the Waif's were meanwhile claims his fiancee's noise making
is music.
