Hello Friends:

Just after 1:30AM Saturday here. Just saw something I can hardly Believe--due to our obscenely Mild Winter thus far--I just picked some ticks (yes...TICKS!) off my dog (my 12-year-old Black Lab, "Blackie").
I can NEVER EVER remember seeing ticks here in early-February!

We need a LONG stretch of COLDER weather here for sure!

Hi David,
Hope that Blackie is okay.  The ticks here, in our area are deadly.  However they don't seem to exist away from the coastal areas.

Judy

Judy: Yes, Blackie is fine--Thank You. Just can NEVER remember seeing ticks in Wintertime before! Blackie is close to 12-years old, but gets around well. He sleeps on the back porch in a doghouse with various shredded bedding (he likes to shred stuff). On the colder nights--like tonight (Sat.) I'll let him in to my back room (computer room) for a while to warm up.

David, tick season is in full force here. It is worse at the moment due to the continual rain that the east coast is experiencing. Then we get the hot days which brings out snakes.......

Encountered this bugger whilst riding back from Trentham on my bike last week.

Ticks come out in late May/early June in N. Minnesota. They do prefer dry conditions.
Best regards!    Rich
