Subject: [austpacwx] Sydney, Bondi at about 12.35pm and Mona Vale

Hi All,

Great day to go to Sydney........

However we never got wet until we got off the bus near home and the rain was pelting down.  We saw plenty of torrential rain though luckily from under cover.

Believe it or not, the rain stopped to almost nothing by the time we walked the short distance home and but we got quite wet through.  Yes we had umbrellas.

We have had 123mm of rain since 9am yesterday and 18 mm to 9am yesterday (Tuesday).

Does anyone have a copy of the radar for the area over Bondi Beach or a little to the north of the beach for the 15 minutes including 12.35pm today, please.

There was something amazing happening over that way.  We watched it from a Manly Ferry.  It tried very hard to form a wall cloud and had a nice inflow line for about 10 minutes before it all disipated.

The sky was almost black and it did look like a rather good thunder storm, although the tops of it were not very high, I suspect.

The flooding in the Warriewood Valley at McPherson Street,  got the better of us, some guys (Council ????) had closed the road  and told the bus driver that he could not drive through.

Judy

Thanks Ken.

We are enjoying a little interval in the rain just now.  Looks like it won't be long (on the Radar) before it comes back.

All the usual roads are still closed and the buses are still making their detours - 10.52pm Wednesday.
Judy
