This position requires basic graphic design/illustration and production
skills. Ability to design and create for hard copy documentation, web and CD
with a knowledge of graphics/illustration/3D animation software tools, as
well as an understanding of technical documentation and documentation
processes. Candidate must have good communication and organizational skills,
good knowledge of documentation tools, and basic understanding of computer
technology. Prefer bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a graphic
design and technical illustration discipline, with a minimum of 2 years
experience. Technical documentation experience and good knowledge of a
related discipline (linguistics, grammar, punctuation, style, editing
concepts, art theory, design concepts).
The selected individual will perform departmental and project administrative
tasks as assigned by manager. This individual will illustrate and/or design
documents with coaching as part of a team for both hard-copy and on-line
documentation. The selected individual will illustrate systems and
peripherals to produce easy-to-follow and user-friendly hard-copy and
on-line documentation and create camera- ready documentation, ensuring and
maintaining accuracy of information and a high standard of quality.
Coordinate with writers, editors, engineers, and marketing group to design,
produce, and release work for production.
