You can't steal the taxpayer's money as easily if you spend it on easy to
watch things like infrastructure; building, maintence, road building etc.
It's easy to steal when you pump billions into a mandatory medicare "health
Plan" for everyone.
No one can figure out where the money is, was, or went that way.
This is why the city of austin pumps millions into "consulting" fees and
such and so little into roads and improvments to infrastructure.
It's so much easier to steal 20 million when you dump 100 million into "low
income housing tax rebates, credits and financing initiative".
Then if you get caught stealing or mismanaging the money, you just ignore
it, the voters re-elect you anyway like Dwana Dukes et al, and you continue
on with Domain Tax forgivness and you simply set up more BONDS for
elections each year and the mooing masses go and vote for everyone of them,
which is simply disguised as tax increases to pay for stuff that had
already should have been paid for years ago, the money was stolen and now
we have to pay again and again for it.
See "waller creek" "syncronized lights" "bike trails" and more.
See?

A fine is a tax for doing wrong
A tax is a fine for doing well
My favorite example was when I lived in Atlanta for a few years in the
mid-90's. The powers-to-be in the city council voted to raise $400 million
in debt through a bond issue to build and repair infrastructure such as a
recent catastrophic sewer incident that dumped millions of gallons of raw
sewage in to the Chattahoochee River. The bond issue passed and the debt was
raise. As soon as the city managers got the money they decided that there
were other more pressing issues to spend the money on other than
infrastructure. Guess what, three years later, they wanted another huge bond
issue for....you're right, infrastructure construction and repair. I don't
know if it passed or not but probably so.
Bond = Tax
Tax money into general fund = disappearing money

Was it ok for Shrub and Paulson to throw billions into Whore Street

Better that, than just being as asshole such as yourself, Boob.

Another asshole comment.
Uneducated, as usual: "business's" is wrong terminology. Get an education!
The same lickspittle baa'ing sheeple made up the legions of filthy
childmolesting, raping, diseased priests during the middle ages who tried
to burn anyone at the stake for saying that the earth was round, the earth
wasn't the center of the universe and such nonesense.
"science", and it's modern day equivelent, "business" and "capitalism"
scares the crap out of these low lifes becuase they don't understand it,
never will, know they're too stupid to make the money they think is "easy"
money and thus they're jealous and resentfull and thus they make up the
majority of the democrapic party and call themselves "liberals".
You see the same teeming millions of jerkoffs lazy stupid assholes in all
middle eastern countries, sitting around, sipping coffee through their
shit-stained decaying teeth, sucking on sugar cubes all day long and
complaining about "the jews" and "american great satan". Too stupid and
lazy to work, yet just smart enough to trigger a submachine gun desiegned
especially by the Russians for stupid 3 world kneegrows, ayabs and meskins
called a "kalashnikov". 500 years ago they used to be called "pitchforks
and hoes".
Same people. Just diferent languages and historical time frame.
A good plague will solve most of the world's problems...

Now George...
It's not his fault that he has no concept that any person could have a
legitimate opinion and NOT be an expert in the field.
He just has his own myopic little experiences, based on his own
opinions. He knows his opinions are udderly worthless, due to his lack
of any type of reading comprehension, logic, common sense, or
analytical abilities. He just doesn't possess any of those, therefore
he "thinks" no one else possesses the ability to read, comprehend,
interpret, and analyze economics and come up with a legitimate
conclusion/opinion.
We should "feel" sorry for him, but he's just too stupid to feel sorry
for...

Coming in about 3-6 months. My Tamiflu reserves apparently won't do
me too good, as H1N1 has mutated, and now there's a resistant strain.
I'm glad I am not in a heavily people-contact oriented profession.
The gf also is not out there with the masses, in her gig. While I
doubt that the flu will decimate the world population, it should get
rid of a fairly large number of folks, if it follows the 1918 pandemic
course with 50 million deaths.

50 million out of 6 billion is not a lot of people, unless you are one
of the 50 million...

Yo bro .. Yir think so ?
Shit. Us brothers gota to chill on the hand shaking shitte
and *black* power greetings . Be low down, and cool.
A 95% death rate in 3rd world countries and a 30% in western would solve
all the "carbon offset" problems, traffic, pollution, housing prices,
taxes, crime, water shortages, food prices problems. For a while.
People are a plague on the world. We're not worth shit, all we do is
destroy and infest this world.
Many Syfi books posit the proposition that aliens would rightfully wipe us
all out as "pests".
Now if we just put permanant birth control substance in every soft drink,
avian water, beer, diabetic medicine and other medicines for defective
people, that would solve the problems in obout 20 years or so. But we
won't do that so we have to depend on the old good standbyes of starvation,
war and pestilence.
It's not enough. You'd have the same traffic on Austin's freeways similar
to the summer break when all those useless future mouth breathers called
"UT" students are gone.
To improve our quality of life we need a much higher death rate, like the
bubonic plague that wiped out 20% each time it visited, at least 3 times
over a 400 year period.
Every time the population got too big, the plague (yippeee!) came back and
wiped out the population to a sustainable level.
Damn penicillin.

Those "boys" will be my hero, the savior's of the human race for the next
100 years, the saviors of the earth, letting it breath and catch up and
restore the wetlands, oceans and forests.
My heros...
