Where to Stay in Austin?

I'm visiting from Canada this weekend and want to go to Austin...
however I've picked a busy weekend! Memorial Day and University
Graduation! The hotels and motels have been booked for weeks.
Does anyone have any suggestions (other than stay away of course!)?
Maybe a local motel that no one has heard of, a bed and breakfast, a
nearby campground... maybe even someone who has a house to rent for the
weekend (alright, I'm reaching).

Bastrop is about 30 miles east of Austin on a 4-lane divided highway
and it has an abundance of new motel rooms.
Bastrop also has bed & breakfast places and campgrounds.

What about the Austin Motel on South Congress. (Known to locals as the
Austin penis Motel. Sorry).
Very cool area.
Very close to downtown.

Because of the shape of the sign - not because of anything that goes on at
the motel (anymore than any other motel that is).
