I assume you've all seen this Libra Fleur ad by now. Does anyone
else have the thought go through their head while watching this of
just how badly that guy is going to get smacked about after class?

:) Thinking about it, I noticed that it was a mixed class. It's
possible he had the hots for another girl in that class and didn't
want to stuff up his chances with her...

I actually said it, the first time I saw that advert... in fact I think my
words were "YOU PRICK!" at the top of my voice and "I hope they beat the
crap out of you!" but oh dear... I forgot the Missus was next to me. I got a

The other girl in the class was not heterosexual. She was having a good

I didn't think that was an ogle though - more of a stunned stare,
possibly combined with a "wow, I wish *I* had a body like that"...

Bah! It's not even accurate.

I've done life drawing before and the model gets changed into a bath robe
in the back room.

No! Really? But that means she must have been, gosh, A LESBIAN! All right,
she may have been bi too. Goodness me. We can't have *that* kind of stuff in
advertising, can we? Next thing you know they be putting erect nipples on
soaps and sitcoms...

As for Mr Revenant's comment about "body envy", I'm afraid I'm disagreeing
here. *That* kind of stare she did was a definite "gayze".

Sorta odd isnt it? Gets changed out of sight like that then walks out

It's a strange one if you ask me.

I decided to ask an acquaintance studying Architecture somewhere in
Australia for any humorous anecdotes he may have on reaction to this ad (in
which the girl strips in an architecture class by mistake).

The response I got was as follows:

"I have heard/seen it/of it. Don't know which. Must have been a while ago.
Anyway, no major issue or I would have heard much more of it. :)"

I explained in reply that they were no fun. Oh well.

Getting back to the ad... what do people make of the second part of it that
normally runs at the end of the same break?

You see the model telling a friend that she "just completely forgot" - then
there's a "news" item on the TV which says something or other and the model
says "See?" to her friend.

I still haven't worked out what's supposed to be going on there.

I hate that add. The second part really gets me because she seems more
worried that she forgot she was wearing protection than that she stripped in
the wrong class.
But still, I hate all of those kinds of adds. A lot of them don't seem to
advertise the usefulness of them, but rather appeal to whatever the more
"typical women" (I hate stereotyping the most, so don't get up me for doing
it here) want.

I may be way out of line here and I'll admit I don't really know too much
about it, but if I had to go through "whatever" once a month I really
wouldn't care weather or not the "click top pack" goes with my purse.

Please realise that this rant is having a go at advertising not women.

Nige.

The news item (I think it's an ad, actually) says "protection so
thin you can forget you're wearing it" and she goes "see!". Pretty
lame.

You may have missed, in the original ad when she was just about to
drop her panties she had to stop and try to remember if she was
wearing her pad or not. That's when Captain Idiot interrupts her...

Why wouldn't she? She takes her clothes off professionally. Once
she got over the original startlement* she saw the humorous side.
It's not like she hasn't stood naked in front of a room of students
numerous times before...

* (Oh and I bet *that*'s a word).

In defence of this ad (<shrug>) it was essentially talking about
comfort (so thin you can't tell you're wearing it was the point).
And remember it's one time a month that goes over a few days -
a woman can easily use several pads a month...

Err yuk, the thought of some girl removing her knickers with a pad stuck
