Not sure what you're on about? Channel 9 didn't show any rugby today?

Well it involved the Manly Sea Magpies and the Melbourne Thunderstorm.

Oh I see. That's the NRL grand final which is rugby league, not
rugby. Rugby is a completely different game using a different shaped
ball and an extra 2 players per team. I don't know how anyone could
confuse them. It's like confusing golf with tennis.

Read in aus.tv much later than the posting time, but some of us are on
dial-up and have lives that don't allow them to spend all day on Usenet.

More like confusing Tennis and Royal Tennis.

Where is ant?

The other night there was a replay of Letterman on and he was talking
about Tim Russett's death and was he holding up a picture of ant which I
found very strange.

Actually, no. The ONLY think I can see that rugby league and rugby
union have in common is that both lots of players wear mouthguards.
Other than that, I can't see one single thing in common.

Rusty explains the difference here

Well done. He explains it quite well. I like the way he describes
the game of rugby league as being closer to american football than
anything else, and the NRL grand final as similar to the Super Bowl.
EXCEPT RUSTY - in the Super Bowl, both teams are trying to win. In
our NRL grand final this year, only one team were trying to win.
