It's Roman Numerals for 1965.
In 1965, two Aussie blokes were enjoying a round of golf in Victoria. While
waiting for a slow group ahead of them, they decided to try mixing their
drinks. One had brought lemon, lime and soda, the other a bottle of Vodka
(in case of snakebite). By the 18th hole they realised that they had
stumbled across something big.
Within months, the first range of UDL premixes hit the shelves and the rest,
as they say, is history. For over 40 years, Aussies have been sipping UDLs,
and they're now as much a part of the Australian tradition as backyard
cricket and throwin' a prawn on the barbie.
