Yes he probably didn't fulfill his potential but he was good
with the ball in his hands. A deceptive runner with a good
kick and chase. Fittler was the best of Big Mal's speed bumps.
There weren't many who could bring down Big Mal without help.

When Lord Ted first came to Saints he didn't drink and therefore
didn't fit in well. Billy Smith defended him so he got by but
i think he had some trouble with the grog later on. Maybe that
had something to do with it.
