'Ponting should've retired after Adelaide Test'

Former Australian pacer Geoff Lawson feels Ricky Ponting is self-indulgent and says the
batsman should have announced his retirement from international cricket after the Adelaide
Test against India last month.

Ponting on Tuesday said he would continue to play Test cricket despite being dropped from
Australia's one-day side.

"I thought the press conference was one of the most self-indulgent little pieces of
self-interest I've seen for a long time. "He said he wanted to go out on top. Well, he
just made a double hundred in the Test match (in Adelaide last month). The only way he can
go now is down. To retire after Adelaide would have been absolutely perfect," Lawson was
quoted as saying by foxsports.com.au.

The former Pakistan coach also urged the selectors to look for fresh talents. "If he doesn't
make runs in the three Shield games, I'm not sure why he should be going to the West
Indies," Lawson

well he can go to the Windies based on the results of his last 2 Test
matches

but otherwise I agree with Henry

Some of the words he used included "dominate" as in he dominated the bowling

Sorry Ricky , you never dominated the bowling like you used to do ...
yuou are only 50% the batsmen you once was

6 innings 2 100s 3 50s 544 runs @ 108.80 with 59 runs/100 balls.
Looks like a degree of domination really
