How good is he Pie supporters? Im not sure that it was such a good idea
for the Lions to dump Molloy.

The only thing I saw Micheal do last year was a great goal on the run...

I attended the International Australian Football Championships last year
in Darwin and spoke to a couple of the PNG players about Mal Micheal.
While they were impressed with his success they didn't think he was any
better than the top players in the PNG league. I don't think that
actually answers your question though as I foolishly failed to ask their
opinion of Jarrod Molloy.

Don't barrack for either Brisbane or Collingwood, but anyway...

I think Michael is OK, but I think Molloy has more chance of winning a game
off his own boot than Michael. Michael is certainly not worth the rumoured
300,000 per year. In my opinion he's a guy with a dodgy back who is pretty
athletic and that's about it.

I think Michael is a guy who got 12 goals kicked on him by an 18 year-old on
New Year's Eve. 'Nuff said!

I am also not a Lions or Magpie supporter (in the AFL anway) but I think
Molloy would be the better rated player.
Micheal is pretty verstile but Molloy is stronger and provides more of a
contest in my opinion.
But Molloy basically pleaded with Liegh Matthews and the Lions heirachy to
trade him back to Victoria so he could be closer to his family. He
apparently had an emotional year with a family member or 2 passing away, and
was disappointed he couldn't be there with them for support.
So he desperately wanted to get back down south, but he said he would have
still committed himself 100% to the Lions if they couldn't pull off a trade.
Leigh said they would do their best to accomadate Molloy's needs and it
looks like they have.
It's good to see a club 'feel' for a player's needs and not just treat them
like an asset though.
Molloy said most of this in an interview on radio here in Adelaide before
the trading period.

Yes, the fact that some clubs are willing to allow their players to
return home to be near family and friends in times of need shows that
coaches realise that there are things that come before the club and were
willing to enter into a trade that could well prove disadvantageous to
the club in order to fulfil the player's desire. Shame Fremantle
couldn't do the same when Clive Waterhouse asked them to allow him to
return to Port Adelaide so he could be closer to his ill father.

Get your facts right.

Clive was offered to the Power, but they were very lazy with offering a
trade. The Power thought it was a give me and did not try very hard.

Clive is happy that Freo tried to accomodate his initial request and is
now happy with the flexibility with travel which allows him to drop into
Adelaide every fortnight, if need be, on the return from games in the
east.

Alright, there's a bet. I will give you evens that B. Fevola kicks at least
500 goals in his AFL career.

Keep that quote for a few years time.

P.S. I know the game itself was a crock, but do not devalue Fevola's effort
on the night.

Pulease!

Ha! The way he's going he'll be lucky to have one, let alone one long
enough to kick 500 goals.

Deja'll do that :-)

Why not? The game was meaningless, the opposition didn' give a toss.
Denis Pagan's mate "Blind Freddy" could have kicked 10 if he'd been at
FF :o)

I rate Mal as a very good defender and an average forward. He has an
incredible verticle leap (see
http://www.afl.com.au/lib/multimedia/files/20000313_9.mpg ), but he is
better used as a defender where I'm sure Leigh will use him on a second or
third tall. He will be missed at Collingwood, but I'm glad we got Malloy for
him.
