> McPhee has quit the Bumblers and gone back to the Fumblers
Classic McPhee decision-making... I guess when he said he wanted to be
captain two months back it wasn't because he wanted to help the club
out.
> Kudos for sticking to his guns for a 3 year contract
Do you think he deserved 3 (guaranteed) years, as opposed to two plus
third based on performance, and that he deserved better than fifth-best
money within the club?
PhcMee, it was hardly the classiest way to go (to Freo!)
(Maybe Melbourne or Richmond, both without established KPPs, will
intervene...)

The theme seems to be for knights to get rid of players he doesn't like and
then they go acrossd to Freo to play with other Essendon players who have
been given the short shrift
Never liked knights at all, when he was a player, when he was coach of
Bendigo which he was hopeless at and led them to the bottom of the ladder ,
then he becomes head coach at Essendon
Got me completely tossed as to the logic of the hierarchy.
Makes one wonder if knights is offering favours on the side
must be because he is not a coach
2 + performance = 2 period
Whether he "deserved" it or not his point was
McPhee felt if they were prepared to give an over-rated hack like Williams
3 years then he deserved 3 years as well
> PhcMee, it was hardly the classiest way to go (to Freo!)
For me I think it was all class because he had a principle and he stuck with it
Compare that to Welsh who made the same noises but then
capitulated when they put pressure on him. Funny thing is
if I was the Bumblers I would have then got rid of Welsh
because he showed he doesn't have the grit to go all the way
> if I was the Bumblers I would have then got rid of Welsh because he

OK... so you should only accept principled money-grabbers*, not people
who want to play for your TEAM. We're gonna need a lot of VISY brown
paper bags to accommodate 40 of them!
And it's Freo, for flip's sake.
* OK, not the appropriate phrase, given we offered just as much per
year as Freo. The stupid thing is Freo are going on about how McPhee
can play for five more years, so I dunno what the fuck he's leaving
for, given this is then not his last contract -- hell, if you want the
money, best to take two years and then volunteer yourself to Uncle
Sheedy at GWS!
It's gotta be magic going back to Freo???????
> It's"cohones", not "kahunas". A kahuna is a Hawaiian wizard.
Maybe the OP was correct and people have just misinterpreted? :-)

The Bendigo Pioneers/Bombers would freakin' love to have a two-thirds
strike rate of reaching finals, as per Knights' record there. This is
the team who lost 35 in a row, remember?
(Note that it's a crap job for a coach, due to the split teams and
because local players can make more money playing for a lower-league
Bendigo team. Still a much better job than Bendigo reserves coach,
though!)
Bendigo Pioneers and Bendigo Bombers are two different teams playing in two
different competitions

Sorry, Bendigo Diggers.
Soakay David, neither team have done any good anyway
I still don't like knights as a coach or as a player or even as a person
he is, as far as I am concerned, a glory seeker
He is a legend in his own lunch-box
lol EVERY player plays for the money they are DRAFTED to a team
they are very lucky if they get to play for the team of their choice
but hey I am sure you and all your work colleagues never look for a pay raise at work!
what a crock of shite reasoning you used and you know it!
and you know his principle was a THREE YEAR Contract
and no-one save the negotiators knows whether it was
for more money not just for more time

Excepting that McPhee looked at how a few older players have just
been completely shafted by the Bumblers
blokes that WANTED TO PLAY FOR THE TEAM apparently
by your reasoning should play for nothing and be glad for the game
and obviously has no trust or faith in the bumblers past 2 years
gF
McPhee's over rated anyway, too short as a true KPP,
more a spare parts man who can plug holes from time to
time and snag a few goals on his good days.
Dopey move by Freo if you ask me.
Agree that McPhee is definitely not top shelf, especially when it comes to
decision making, but as you alluded to he can be serviceable as a utility
and fill a number of roles. Freo don't have many of these types of players.
Freo brought 14 new players into the club last season:
Broughton, Suban, Hill, De Boer, Ballantyne, Pearce, Clarke, Walters,
Van Berlo, Ruffles, Sibadaso, Sheppherd, Bucovaz, Hall.
And they'll get at least 7 youngsters in the upcoming draft (not including
the rookie draft). That's a lot of youngtsers - too many perhaps. I wouldn't
have thought bringing a bit of experience into the club would be a bad thing
under these circumstances.
Plus McPhee has cost them nothing. As much as I enjoy Freo's dopiness, I
can't see how this is a dopey move.
it would take less than three minutes for your average reader to
decipher that if you knew how to use grammar and punctuation.
just saying.
McPhee cost them nothing?
So he's playing for free?
Anyway, he turns 28 in 2010, he won't be around when
Freo are within earshot of the top 4, they'd be better
grooming a kid.
Harsh Biggus, harsh.
Too bad Bombers. Bout time Freo screwed someone else on a trade rather than
themselves.
There was no trade executed. McPhee was the prick who screwed them.
Right after he was screwed by the Bumblers
If you were McPhee would you settle for a two year contract
right after they had just given a hack like Williams a 3 year deal
gF
Two independent issues for the rational individual, of course. Nothing
to do with each other.
except that they were negotiated by the same executive at the same club
nothing to do with each other BS, lol, the very fact they gave Williams a 3 year
contract meant they weren't prepared to risk another 3 year contract
with any other player. I love the way Bumblers try to spin it that McPhee
was somehow complicit in the the deal when it was the Bumbling
actions of your own executive that initiated the whole thing
gF
No probs we will get your lot to teach ours how to pt on a pissup, or is
that a pisson? Everything in open sight that is......
right after we get yours to teach em
how to drive unlicenced, unregistered and uninsured
and beat up on their lady friends
oh bugger, thats right you dumped him on the Saints!
still we know where he was when he learnt how to do it all..
gF
load of crap. two different players, two different contracts. simple
stuff.
lol
spin, spin, spin (to be sung to the Bee Gees)
gF
Pretty plain to me - rational people understand that the world doesn't
revolve around them. I'm sure Adam McPhee was aware of this, he's not
stupid.
too right he isn't. Instead of allowing himself to be shafted by the Bumblers
he had his management team organise a better deal with the Fumblers.
gF
Pathetic.
