I haven't needed to use the railways for a couple of months, but last night went out on
the piss, so the car stayed at home. :-)

Last time I caught a train from Penno on the Main Northern Line (before Christmas), it was
in the usual K set but I got a bit of a surprise when a Waratah train (the oldest set in
service, A3) turned up.

First impressions are that it accelerates OK and appears to be fairly well finished. I
don't know how long the fabric seat covers will last before they are stained with coffee,
soft drink and vomit or how resistant they are to vandals, I suppose they have lasted 18
months, so they must be pretty good. I noticed several windows in the rear car have
already been scratched by the fuckwit element in our society.

Nice and quiet inside, but it tends to wallow a bit so some passengers may suffer from
motion sickness, especially after a night on the turps with a dodgy kebab or two thrown
in.

All in all, much better than the K and S sets I've caught in the past on that line.
