Here we go again on the 16th Floor of the Queen Victoria Building in
Sydney.
Will we break our record and stay out longer than what we did in the
early 1980's!

It little wonder that 95% of RailCorp staff have voted for industrial
action.

Some interesting pay comparisons in NSW;

RailCorp have offered their staff a 2.5% pay rise;

Meanwhile;

NSW Politicians voted themselves a 6.7% pay rise.
The RailCorp CEO received a 8.0% pay rise.
The RailCorp General Manager, Asset Management received a 25.7% pay rise.
The RailCorp General Manager, Human Recourses received a 22.4% pay rise.
The RailCorp General Manager, Information & Technology received a 14.5% pay
rise.

Maybe RailCorp management and NSW politicians should demonstrate wage
restraint, before forcing it on the workforce?

It's World Pope Day(s) - Get it Right! (tm) 8-) Absolutely nothing to do
with 'youth' in a general sense except to re-invigorate the flagging
interest in Roman-Catholicism in 'capitalist' society which is losing it's
'grip' on control in religion and politics (except here in NSW where the
government seems firmly in the grips of Power-Catholicism!). Load of crock
really.

Having been accidentally in Köln when the last one was held, nothing is
further from the truth than that statement. (We left before the Pope
actually arrived, but all vantage points along the river were packed as
we crossed the river on the train out).

The city was full of loud teenagers, who other than the noise (singing
and cheering) were all behaving them selves. Surreal really. Walk through
a square packed with groups, waving national or regional flags, all
making lots of noise, but perfectly civil. No drunks, no fights, just
good natured cheering and singing. Weird.

I presume ever one thinks that many teenagers in one spot equals a
drunken brawl.

While doing some train spotting at the Haupbahnhof (main station) a
Austrian electric locomotive comes in hauling 10 cars of french sleeping
cars full of Italians...

Besides it's not going to be any thing like Köln, it's too far away and
with the oil price hike, so expensive, only the locals will turn up. We
won't getting ten carriage loads of Italians arriving by train....

Only those with rich parents will be able to afford the trip.

Wasn't it not that long ago the NSW government was in the grips of
Hillsong wasn't it ? Make your mind up. Hillsong and the Roman Catholics
are not compatible.
Presumably as an avowed atheist you can't tell the difference between
various sorts of Christians.

Yes, I think you might be right when you say well behaved and a little weird
too.

Seeing a bunch of you people carrying a large wooden cross through Darling
harbour was strange and seeing a bunch of people carrying the coffin of some
guys who died in the 1920's and claiming that he hasn't decayed in all that
time is even weirder! But I'm sure we wont be seeing gangs of drunken or
drug affected youth during this even, which is a nice change too.

Personal, I don't see the NSW government run by the Catholic Church. But I
do see some sort of Mafia/Macquarie Bank mob running the show and screwing
the
NSW tax payer into the ground. Just looking at the surnames of many of the
NSW politicians accused or alleged to have been involved in dodgy dealings
reviles a lot.

You forgot to mention that this guy has been at ICAC for months for
corruption. That deserves a pay rise.
