This should make interesting reading! ARTC have claimed the corridor was
damaged by heavy rains. So now that it's been dry for several months, why is
this corridor still awash with track speed restrictions and more are still
developing? Could it be because they did shut a cheap and shitty job???

Sydney-Melbourne rail study almost complete
Nearly five months, after it was expected to be released the Australian
Safety Transport Bureau (ATSB) says its final report into the Sydney to
Melbourne rail line is almost complete.
The ATSB website says the report should be made public in early February.
Federal Infrastructure Minister Anthony Albanese requested the investigation
in August 2010, after heavy rain caused mud holes to develop under some
sections of the track.
An interim report released last year found speed limits were maintaining
safety along the track and the Australian Rail Track Corporation has also
rebuilt some sections of the line.
