Would like to see a track plan of Merriwa, NSW. Branch line terminus closed since 1988, west of Musswelbrook and Scone. Have just spent a couple of frustrating hours trawling through responses on the net, using various search words and phrases. Quite a number of references and a few photos of Merriwa rail yard, but cant locate a track plan. Found a ref in AMRM index of a 1971 issue with a track plan, but wont be able to access the club library till next Sat. I'm sure our very efficient club librarian has a pristine copy for me to peruse.
Anyone out there know what site I can bring up to show me on my computer, here at home, a track plan of Merriwa? The internet was supposed to be all-informing, all-knowing, but this experience, and another subject I was (unsuccessfully) trying to research tonight, have left me quite disappointed and disillusioned.
Perhaps someone out there actually has this magazine (I think it was the May June issue 1971) and could scan to me the relavent pages.

ps.........in doing this research, I came across many references to an attempt in 2009 to start up a Merriwa railway museum, with big plans to eventually have some sort of rolling stock running on part of the branch near Merriwa. It seemed to start off well, but then it looks like personality clashes caused people to lose interest and it seems to have collapsed. Indeed, when I inspected the station area in May this year, it certainly didnt look like anything was happening. Any comments? ........................................Bill
As well as the AMRM article mentioned (which was indeed May/June 1971), the Merriwa branch is covered in "Byways of Steam 10" and the ARHS Bulletin October 1967 issue. Both of these publications have diagrams of the station.
NSW Railway News had a two part article on the Merriwa line, June and July 1970 issues. I assume these would have had track plans too.
I guess the reason why none of these plans are on the web relate to copyright.
There are a few more options for your club's librarian....
