Maybe its a speech implodiment. When I worked at Alcatel here they all
understood what it meant. Unlike open confusion at phrases like "prawn
on the barbie", "she'll be right mate" and wanting to put your suitcase
(luggage) in the boot (trunk)...

Have heard quite a few telstra workers who have a speech impediment
