Hanson's Magnificant Eleven
Whatever became of the eleven PHON MPs that One Nation elected to the
Queensland parliament?
Jack Paff: Twice accused of sexual harassment and admitted misleading the
House over allegations of corrupt police activity. Now a CCA MP.
Jeff Knuth: Hasn't contributed anything worthwhile. Thinks that Howard
double-crossed Australia over firearms legislation. Now a CCA MP.
David Dalgeish: Pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property in 1998 and
bought a second hand Corvette as his electoral car. Another CCA MP who,
despite having taste in cars, has contributed nothing.
Harry Black: Introduced a private members bill aimed at giving the
Building Services Authority the power to act against builders not paying
subcontracters. The only CCA MP to do something worthwhile.
Bill Feldman: Only contribution to debate was to claim that Beattie in his
youth aided the communists take over the free country of Vietnam.
Evidently has no idea of Vietnamese history. Leader of the CCA.
Peter Prenzel: When the first five MPs left PHON, he claimed that One
Nation was a better party for the resignations. Evidently he decided that
he wasn't good enough for such a party and decided to become deputy leader
of the CCA later on.
Well that's the CCA. What about the rest?
Ken Turner: Independent, previously a professional Santa Claus. Enough
said.
John Kingston: Independent, apparently likes rugby. I don't know enough
about this one to comment. The problem is, noone seems to know enough
about him.
Charles Rapport: Independent, resigned after four months claiming
depression. Attempted to claim $295,000 compensation for the rest of his
term. Committed suicide.
Dorothy Pratt: Independent. Conducted a twenty word speech in support of
Shaun Nelson's bid to become speaker. Nicknamed 'Dolly' for good reason.
Has made substantial contributions to a dozen bills total, yet still
claims to be representing her electorate first.
Shaun Nelson: Independent. A thug by countenance and opinion. Once
challenged a Labor MP to "step outside" of the house. Probably the MP most
likely to use the word "I" in a speech.

If an elected member who stood as party candidate resigns from the party
then he should also have to resign from parliament.
The people aren't interested in what happened above over the last 3 years.
They are much more interested in what happened at a result from Labor and
the Coalition.
The people of Queensland will remember the things stated below:
* Failure to listen to the people
* Labor's corruption with the electoral rorts
* Coalition arrogance and whining
* Gun laws
* Failure of the major parties to bring in truth in sentencing and
capital punishment
* The major parties who nearly tried to get rid of Pauline Hanson and
succeeded in helping to deregister One Nation
* Lack of democracy
* Labor's poor health record
* Coaltions refusal to listen to rural people's concern about
globalisation
* Poor run and / or cutting down of services
* Broken employment 1998 election promise
* Labor's failure to represent the working man
* Failure to build more dams, channels and hydro power schemes.
These are the state issues, and remember a state election cannot be used to
decide on federal issues. Anyway neither party have shown to me they could
be trusted. I think it's time the minor parties such as Pauline Hanson's
One Nation, city country alliance and Independents be installed who will
hold the balance of power.

Was he found guilty? Wasn't it a Labor MP who was defended by the party
until finally convicted of child sexual abuse? Stones and glass houses
Lev.
+Jeff Knuth: Hasn't contributed anything worthwhile.
He's a politician Lev and he isn't in govt. What do you expect him to do?
What has Mr Beazley "contributed" to federal politics - and he's the
leader of the party!!!
+David Dalgeish: Pleaded guilty to receiving stolen property in 1998 and

A corrupt politician - how unusual. Did you know the ex-leader of the WA
Labor Party - and ex-Premier - came out of jail a while back? He
contributed a lot - to his entrepreneurial mates.
+Well that's the CCA. What about the rest?
+Ken Turner: Independent, previously a professional Santa Claus. Enough

He had a paid job which made kids smile. What a complete prick he must be
eh Lev?.

Yeah, they should get rid of him - we only want famous people in politics?
+Charles Rapport: Independent, resigned after four months claiming

Sounds like he was pretty seriously depressed wouldn't you say? Have any
Labor MPs ever commited suicide (or attempted) or is it just something
worthless independents do? And how much did Leo McKlay get for falling off
a bike he should never have been riding?
+Dorothy Pratt: Independent. Conducted a twenty word speech in support of
+Shaun Nelson's bid to become speaker. Nicknamed 'Dolly' for good reason.
What reason would that be (I honestly don't know)? Is she made of
fire-retardant polypropelene? Does she resemble a cloned sheep or does she
have a noticeable bustline? Must be one of the first two as I can't
imagine you'd lampoon a woman based on her physical appearance.
+Shaun Nelson: Independent. A thug by countenance and opinion. Once

Does Shaun throw ashtrays at staff-members? And what's the latest on the
allegation that two Labor MPs verbally threatened a Liberal MP in a bar?
If the point of this post was to show that independents are just like all
other poltiicians then you've done a pretty good job - although it would
have been better if you had listed the comparisons rather than leave
others to do it for you. Some people might have got the wrong idea.

Really? So you're a voter with good faith in Frederica Bloggs who stands
for a major party you have good faith in. The party stuffs up but Frederica
is solid with her electorate. So you reckon her former party (and probably
the opposition party) should shaft her and get someone more compliant in!?
Good response Andy, you've hit the bullseye.
The main point is that whilst both PHON and CCA make all sorts of claims
that they're not like other politicians it seems pretty bloody clear that
they are. And given that, they should be judged not on being
"anti-political" but on the content of their policies and their
performance.
Regards,
However I would never, ever, vote for them in federal politics. I'm am
strongly against their racial policies, the immigration policy, free trade
among other things.
The guy who is accusing him, Chris Payne, is a total a total wanker.
He is the chairman of the rorts inquiry in QLD, and he is so biased towards
the liberals. Listen to the interview on sky news, when theliberal was
accused, Payne said he souldn't front the inquiry unless unsumntable
evidence was uncovered. Unlike ALP members who should all go there. John
(the Interviewer), was very surprised on his comments, and said that he is
onyl supporting Beazely's claim it is a liberal party which hunt. Payne the
Punce just sat their wiggling around and trying to get his way out of it.

He's in the right job then - although he's got some fierce competition.

I'd still like to know why Dorothy is called "Dolly"?
You evidently don't know Shaun, Lev! In fact I dare say I'm the only
person here to know him personally.

Shaun's highly egocentric, but no, I certainly wouldn't put him first in
such stakes.
What's your ploy, Lev? You could convert the whole group to your way of
thinking and not make a tiny bit of difference to any election.
In fact Shaun always respected the wishes of the people of the Tablelands.
The people up there are very worried about deregulation of the milk
industry - yes especially in the Malanda and Milla Milla area. I know the
area very well.
I have even met Jeff Knuth, a really nice bloke, like Shaun he represents
the area very well. Jeff Knuth is my local member.
I am disappointed with these members decision to leave Pauline Hanson's One
Nation, BUT they have the final
The people fear deregulation because it's very bad for business. If we
don't control globalisation then the local businesses might suffer and
become non-exist, and people up there will have no work. The community
suffers, and the nation suffers thanks to the major parties.
I believe Shaun should do well up there. Shaun is NOT a thug by nature. He
is very angry because the people's wishes are not respected by the major
parties.

Independents like Ken and Shaun probably did as well as any in drumming
up votes at street level, but didn't get their votes topped up by having
a universally-recognized media celebrity like Peter Beattie charming
their potential voters day after day in their loungerooms.
