Some friends in Canberra want me to take some family portraits for them. I
usually take landscapes and I don't have any studio equipment (I only just
bought myself a flash ! :). I am looking for business' in Canberra where I
can hire some studio lights, reflectors, etc or alternatively a studio we
could hire for half a day.
Thanks in advance for your help
Steve
There are several, they will even come out and take the photos for you.

I *think* that Fletchers hires equipment.

He asked a legitimate question, if you can't answer the question which
obvoiusly you can't then why bother posting at all .

I actually agree with Miro's insinuations... leave the studio portraits
for the people with the gear to do it (they can't be beaten on price,
pixie, advanced portraits etc.)
Having said that... if you lived in Newcaslte I'd hire out my kit to
you. (3 lights, stands and several backdrops... they don't get enough
use anyway)

What type of lights do you have (model etc) and what do you think of them?
We're about to buy some so i'd be interested in opinions from people who own
studio lights already...

I have several numatic stands for the heavy lights and a couple of
painted backgrounds. (with other stands and a range or brollies.... I'd
love a big soft box... but get similar results with a shoot through
brollie.
I am actually going to sell the 520 and the elinchrom soon and buy 2
more 4001ml as they are cheap, light and will do the job I usually need
lights for (school formals, and occasional portraits in peoples houses
or my house.(should have some change leftover to buy other toys to :-)
I am after a more portable kit.
I will probably auction them on Ebay once the school holidays hit...
I'll post an add here when I do.
I need them next week to shoot portraits at a year 12 formal or I'd have
sold them already
