A unique initiative that combines a week of live concerts and replays from
the library of live performances of Sydney venue The Basement--webcast by
TheBasement.com.au --with a promotion by leading Australian etailers and
all levels of the Australian music industry, will hit the Internet the
week of Sunday July 29 through to Saturday August 4. Itąs the debut of
the annual Australian Music Week Online event, created by producers of
the Australian Online Music Awards (ONYA! Awards) that are being held at
The Basement August 4.
A series of events in the prior week will be staged to shine the
cyber-spotlight on homegrown performing and recording artists, Australian
music etailers & music e-commerce sites, music business sites and
Australian music fan or music information Internet presences. Itąs an
online initiative free of charge for the Australian music industry,
totally non-profit, not associated in any way with any existing music
associations or their Australian music promotions. It costs nothing to be
a part, & is open to all.
AUSTRALIAN MUSIC WEEK ONLINE WEBCASTS‹Broadband and Internet radio station
TheBasement.com.au is staging a week of Australian concerts both live at
The Basement venue in Circular Quay, Sydney, as well as enhancing the
series with encore performances from its archive of local artist gigs.
Every evening starting Sunday July 29 at 8pm AEST, a mix of live and

artists in the concert series. Geared to attracting export product of

THE AUSTRALIAN STREAMING AUDIO & VIDEO NETWORK‹An umbrella event guide at

Ray returns from his recent US tour where he played with some well
renowned blues artists on Beale Street, Memphis, winning acclaim at the
BB King Bar, The Rum & Boogie and several Southern Blues Festivals, also
squeezing in a CD recording in Alabama with Mark Sallings. Ray will be
playing his new original songs at The Basement, along with his already
strong repetoire of jump-blues and swing.
Saturday 4th August - Live from The Basement, the 3rd annual ONYA! Awards
(Australian Online Music Awards) sponsored by OzEmail Internet and
Microsoft Windows Media Player. For those wanting to hang out before the
90 minute webcast kicks off at 8:30 pm-10 pm, we have the recording of the
Artist Keynote Speech from the National Entertainment Industry Conference
two days prior featuring Iva Davies as the countdown to the ONYA! Awards
begins. Then at 8:30, five great Australian artists including Stella One
Eleven, John Butler, Lazy Susan and Big Heavy Stuff (and a huge mystery
band to end the show at 9:50) give their best performances with an
