I can't recall offhand if the CBXs were shim or screw locknut. If it was
the latter then they should be fairly straightforward to do yourself (if
time consuming). I used to manage my VF750SD without any problems. Still,
if you were paying someone the labour would be a bitch.

Yes, in fact it's a rule. However, if Kevin wants to believe his silver
dream racer is a naked bike, we should let him. After all, besides
spreading confusion, what harm does it do?

I understand that the actual definition used in certain naked class
racing is that a bike has no frame mounted and/or OE fairings.

So a bikini screen fitted to the handlebars of a bike like a Z1000
wouldn't automatically transmute it into a faired bike.

That seems reasonable to me but I'm happy to listen if someone's aware
of a more accurate definition floating around.

FWIW I do agree that called bikes with frame mounted half fairings naked
bikes is silly (eg a Bandit 1200S).

According to That Authoritative Source wikipedia it's a quarter-fairing,
although this one appears to be frame mounted rather than hanging off the
triple-clamp. In any event, in my world, naked bikes don't have any form
of windscreen. A purist might argue that they don't have any form of
aerodynamic plastic at all. I'm not a purist.

All that aside, it's a pretty impressive project.

Hmmm. It's hard to see in that image but I think I see a little
aerodynamic plastic windscreen just above the instruments?

In any event, you're right, correction required: " A purist might argue

Don't know if an engine forced to breathe through inlet tracts as long
and as convoluted as those would be able to burn enough fuel to make
overheating an issue... since he's gone to that much trouble already,
he might as well have bolted on a turbo for each cylinder bank while
he was at it.

Lovely, lovely one-off, but also a graphic illustration of why there
aren't more V12 motorbikes around.
