Vickie Chapman dumped and Isobel Redmond elected to lead South Australian liberals

She defeated Vickie Chapman 13 votes to 9.
With the Chapman propaganda team being led by the nutter called Anne

wonder Chapman lost

as attack dog it was inevitable Chapman was doomed ,she helped throw
Liberal out of office years ago and everybody knows her sad pathetic

all hope of any liberal ever getting elected for years

opposition for another decade

It is the first time a woman has been elected as leader of the South
Australian Liberal Party. and once again a nobody gets the job as the
"mud slingers " team destroy their chosen candidate with lies and
smears, that all backfire one by one

Ms Redmond says recent internal divisions are in the past.

"We have been appearing to many in the public as a party in disarray,"
she said.
"I want to tell you that today that disarray has come to an end, I
will be leading a united and inclusive party to the next election."

Ms Redmond also says she wants Vickie Chapman and the former leader
Martin Hamilton-Smith to have positions on the Opposition front bench.
Vickie Chapman has ruled out any future challenge for the top job.

Ms Chapman says the party has drawn a line in the sand and chosen a
new leadership team.
She says the most important issue for the Opposition now is winning
government next March.
"Well I'm hoping I'll be sitting there in a ministerial role, of
course I've undertaken to accept any role or responsibility that I
can, that Isobel feels that I can assist in, but my objective now is
to sit at the cabinet table as a minister in her government."
Steven Griffiths defeated Mitch Williams by eight votes to six for the
deputy leadership.
Duncan McFetridge stood for the deputy leadership but was eliminated
in the first round.
"I would have liked to have been the deputy of this party, the
electoral process has taken its place, Isobel Redmond is the leader
and she'll do a very good job, and the result today is a good result
for South Australia," he said.
Party whip Ivan Venning says the decisive result is welcome.
"More a sigh of relief I think because I think ... we all knew we were
going to get a woman elected today and I think it's history," he said.
Some of the 22 Liberal MPs who voted were still making up their minds
about the ballot late on Tuesday night.
The Premier, Mike Rann, says he looks forward to working with Ms
Redmond.
"I certainly congratulate Isobel Redmond on her appointment," she
said.
"She and I have different views on a range of things including on law
and order, but that's good for democracy, so looking forward to
working with her in the interest of SA."
The leadership vote was the second by the South Australian Opposition
in four days.
Martin Hamilton-Smith stepped down on Monday to clear the way for a
new leader after narrowly winning Saturday's ballot by one vote.
