Queensland Police, in its infinite "wisdom", are prosecuting a poor 60
year old Pensioner for posting a link on the Internet, of a Russian
Circus family:

http://www.watoday.com.au/technology/technology-news/babyswinging-video-uploader-to-stand-trial-20090708-dcte.html

and

http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,25197,25750207-12377,00.html

Simply for posting this link:

http://luvtosurf.blogspot.com/2008/10/man-swings-baby-dangerously-disturbing.html

It is ILLEGAL in Queensland to post links on the Internet, just as I
have done above.

Well, if Queensland Police want to Prosecute this poor old man, they
can go ahead and Prosecute me too!

And if you disagree with what Queensland Police are doing, make sure
you post this video EVERYWHERE.

Let those assholes in Queensland Police understand that what they are
doing is WRONG, WRONG, WRONG...

.....I have said - and said - and said; with every new law that has been
imposed on us for so-called 'good reason' - they have ALL been
eventually prostituted and or corrupted for reasons not initially
intended when the original legislation was enacted.

We need a BILL OF RIGHTS to tether these mindless politicians, dumb-fuck
police and moron judicial officers who regurlarly engage in this blatant
concerted attack on our civil liberties.

Quite frankly I am getting to an old age where, in the future, I see no
prospect of enjoying quality of life because of these Neanderthals -
just as well that I won't have to put up with their shit for too much
longer.

Are you kidding me?? Victoria has a bill of rights and it still didnt
stop corrupt judge like Byrne or prothonotary like salematacpa (sp)

HREOCA1986 is already enacted to enacted international laws ICCPR and
ICERD
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyj_gWqdDWQ&feature=channel_page

Its relevant how many extra laws you have their are not enforced by
corrupt judges, including the new Chief Justice Stenton French

FORGET your Victorian Bill Of Rights, that is a shit concept.

That said, this case should be thrown out and the gentleman should counter
sue for millions, the state and the medical person, 'personally'.

Political correct crap.

Yep.

Which is exactly why that will never happen.

Neanderthals were at least as civilised as we were - and in fact had 10%
greater brain capacity. Sorry, couldn't resist...

Well, I'm only in my 40's, but I can certainly relate.
I sure as hell wouldn't want to be starting out now.

Who says he is a poor pensioner - he's described as a freelance journalist,
and the police raided his workplace!
Perhaps then he needs to be prosecuted for pension fraud as well.

How did you work that one out, Einstein? I think you'll find he's being
prosecuted for promulgating child abuse or similar.

Enough of the poor old man crap, I'm over 60 and don't need your sympathy.

Good, then we'll get rid of another troll!

And it isn't wrong for you to travel on trains without paying your fare?
Driving unregistered cars? Double standards methinks.

Hi.

No double standards at all.

It's much worse to be put in jail for posting a simply Internet link.

This is not an issue of civil liberties anyway. The problem lies in a
parliament that passes draconian laws with vaguely defined offences, and
prosecutors who do not use common sense.

Yes but; the laws would have to take a "Bill of Rights" into account
when drafting then enacting legislation. It therefore is also a matter
of "Civil Liberties" - one cannot seperate the two.

I just don't see how it would work in practice. One might hope that a
Bill of Rights would ensure that laws don't get enacted that make
criminals of honest citizens who could not on any reasonable basis be
said to have done anything wrong.

But presumably Parliament thinks it already enacts laws that way. This
case, and arguably, the Dr Haneef case, show that it doesn't, but it's
not clear what Parliament can do to remedy this. Until the event occurs,
it's well nigh impossible to predict how some deluded prosecutors (aided
and abetted by group-think) will stretch the law in the belief that
it'll lead to another notch on their canes.

Prosecutor's need to be told to get a grip.

Sylvia.
