Possums!!! 
  Yes, those damned possums... a never-ending battle here. My poor fruit trees and silver birches in particular have taken a hammering this year. One thing I have found effective is a mixture of lard and kero - I wiped some around my young silver birches trunks (and any nearby posts) and 6 months later, no further damage thus far.... more »

blood plums and sewage 
  I have a blood plum sort of near an absorption trench for the septic.these plums are never very nice, not very sweet. would the trench from the septic affect the plums? The absorption trench starts a bit downhill from the tree.

I need an all-year flowering garden.

Clearly, these are tended gardens. Camellias are a good example. I'll have to get samples and find out what they are.... more »
