Could someone suggest a simple landscape design program that I
could buy.

Whichever one you choose make sure it's Aussie developed! Some of
the more 'popular' are of US origin and don't show the range of
trees/shrubs etc that are availbale here. The British ones are
even worse!

gooday pete,

you'll probably find it difficult getting any garden related software
here in oz, and they'll all be american made.

the only difference between good garden design and landscaping is
where you put the water feature, so my theory is the money saved on
landscaping designing can be spent on materials for your new garden.

if you want i can give you some ideas as you develop your garden.

There IS an Australian program called Growit Gold Works available from
Innovative Thinking Software. The database is very large and good and there
is a good design module. I was a bit disappointed in the 3D design module,
however this is a recent addition and appears to be in its infancy with very
limited library of objects.
