Have you considered using big flat rocks & painting the info on them? We
do in Arizona, USA. Lots of info? Get a bigger rock. You can paint
flower or whatever on them when you are waiting for the plants to come
up. This is very good for bulbs in your landscaping, so you remember the
names of the bulbs/rhizomes you put in. I'm an iris nut, so this works
well for me. I enjoy them, but in 4 years when I divide them again, I
may not exactly know who is where. And when I give extras to folks, they
appreciate knowing what they are getting exactly.
Also, in your garden, if you are planting rotation/companion plants,
write the name of the next plant on the back of the rock. This way you
remember what you planted here just before THIS crop, & gives you a
starting point to making plans for the following crop.
Also, the rocks are cheap. (Just find them & bring them home).
They aren't biodegradeable, but that's a rock for you!
