Prevailing Mood of the Year: Strangness. This really has been
a nowhere year for me. THis is the time between times, and the
greyspace, that one wanders through occasionally looking for a
new direction, Much has happened this year, but alot of it is
really hazy. Most of the first half was devoted to something
that died in the second half and alot of it has been devoted
to community service type activities that have left me more
and more frustrated and grumpy. I've watched the final endings
and breakdown of one of the best friendship circles ever, and
still feel that loss. It's been a year of many changes both
personally and socially. Most of my emotional energy has gone
towards coping with that loss and change.
However it started on a high note, although a sad time. and Hopefully
it will end on a high note, as next year is the turning point, and
things change for the better, I've got several more weeks to accept and
deal with the losses and then next year I start fresh.
And damn I'm looking forward to it!

go to an electronic music store and try out the roland sp-808 ...
they're about 2.5K or so but would probably be perfect for what your
after... they have a nice 4 track mixer/sequencer/recorder, has rather
decent sampling capabilities [16x16 pads] with an expensive [approx 800
or 900 $$$] you can get an additional plug in board with heaps more
inputs/outputs and the thing runs off zip disks... and the effects on it
are lots of fun.
it's pretty straight forward for the most part, and some of the more
exciting stuff is a bit of challenge but sounds like it would be
everything you need in one box...

> Hobbes (its been a very good year for good sex tho)
Indeed.
It's been an odd one... but in the nicest way. :)
It's now been (roughly) three and a half years since I last had an
"offical" relationship, ie. someone who was prepared to be known both
publically and privately as my partner / boyfriend / girlfriend / S.O. /
whatever. Which is not to say that I've lived the life of a nun or Miss
Haversham since then, of course (heaven forbid! *grin*), but actual,
formal relationships have been very thin on the ground - read:
non-existant. Oh, I've had a couple of "involvements", of course. One
Clayton's. One Three-Month-Stand. But no-one prepared to go that extra
distance toward striking a partnership.
The situation upset me in 1997.
It upset me in 1998 - particularly as I got very little sex that year at
all.
It upset me in 1999 - especially as, once again, very little "intimate
company" for the year.
Finally, in 2000, I can look back over this year and say with complete
honesty that I'm actually _enjoying_ living the life of a single woman
now.
I don't know precisely _what_ fell into place and when and how, but it
has happened.
And the sex has been great. :) The intimacy has been even better. I
still yearn for a true partnership with a special someone, but at last
I'm not losing sleep over the lacking of it.
Ummm.. yeah. :) I thought I had a point when I started...

Then again there wasn't all that much crap this year.
Best Jukebox: Whuh?
Snog Quota for the Year: 5 (counting a 3 second one too...)
UP! on Last Year's Snog Quota by: 4
Best Morning Person: The caterers at QotD
Most Appreciative Audience for my Music Collection: Anyone who doesn't mind
Emperor being followed up with Simon and Garfunkel
All I Want For Christmas Is: For it to fucking well sod the fuck off, but
I'd settle for a Playstation 2
Most Already-Missed-Too-Much: A good night out at a club
Best Chocolate Bombs: Damn straight :P~~
Musical Instrument I Most NEED to Learn: I'd really like to learn the yang
ch'in although making use of my bass guitar would be a good start
Saddest Losses: Charles Schulz (had a fancy for Peanuts even before I could
read properly)
Saddest Moment: Can't really think of one
Best Actor: Brad Pitt?
Funkiest Dude: That Kenny dude who walks around Melbourne city
Biggest "Ouch": A series of ouches whereby my applications for various jobs
were routinely rejected
Most Satisfying Public Moment: Watching a gig I'd helped organise unfold
quite successfully, and seeing people enjoy themselves
Most Satisfying Private Moment: It may sound a little odd, but kneeling at
the foot of my bed completely motionless for what seemed like ages after
finishing the 9 days of QotD filming, then going to sleep. I haven't
accomplished much this year that I'd consider satisfying, but that was one
of the things.
Biggest Oscars Disappointment: Arse to the bloody Oscars

I have a nice silk scarf you can borrow instead. That way you'll be "hands
free".
Indeed. It's rather like having a hippie earth-mother around. :)
Surreal... finishing off a deliriously lovely morning-fuck with one's
lover in the bedroom whilst listening to Lev pottering around in the
loungeroom (connecting door wide open), tidying things away and doing my
dishes... by the time we finished, he had a cup of tea ready for us,
brought it in and sat on the edge of the bed for a chat...
Charming, I tell you! Utterly charming! :)

Not necessarily.

Remember walking up Elizabeth Street in Melbourne with me, on our way to
the tramstop to go to Blue Velvet?
There was a guy crouched on the footpath outside some store who watched
us as we approached, gave us an incredulous look and shouted "What
fucking decade are YOUS in?!".

Blast From the Past: Meeting Peter on the QotD shoot. He was one of
the nudies, and my neighbour in Brisbane for two years, about four
years ago.

song).

of the year. I was a total effing mess.

dragons.
Best Book: All Tomorrow's Parties by William Gibson? Smoke and
Mirrors by Neil Gaiman? Exquisite Corpse by Poppy Z. Brite?

I wasn't going to do this because I just didn't feel like I had a Year 2000.
For me, most of this year was permeated with a feeling of waiting for things
to begin. And "in the meantime" I had a lot of false starts and pointless
distractions.

Second Generation Geek
Deemed "Yuppie Scum" by H*ydn
Strangely, yes. It was obvious. Right down to the Hannibal Lecter in-jokes.
Except Mr Rhys Meyers.
I do not see his appeal.
The Year 2000 [Ain't it dead yet? ;]
Best Band:
Live: Skinny Puppy
CD: Converter
Best Movie:
This was SUCH an non-movie year for me... The Iron Giant would have to take
the cake... I am forever spoiled by that film.
Most Surprising Movie:
Hard to say... I saw so few... The 3rd Man - I don't regret curling up and
watching it rather than going clubbing, to a party or to see Fantomas all of
which I was offered in place of it.
Most Enjoyable Family Event:
Family events are not enjoyable!!! That being said -> my nieces 1st
birthday party takes the blue penguin shaped cake on that one.
Favourite Flirt-Buddy:
You are all my favourites!
Blast from the Past:
Del. No contest at all.
Song of the Year:
Hmmmmm... a very hard choice indeed... I'll try and make one... Ummmmmmm...
Conqueror by Converter and as wanky as it is Further by VNV Nation... Watch
as I get ousted from that hardcore industrial scene ;]
Best Gig:
Skinny Puppy in Dresden, Snog in Sydney.
Best Club:
Revelations... I miss my first one in a month tonight... =[ *sob*
Most Missed and then Reappearing:
My freedom and ability to choose!!! Yeah!
Best On-going Event:
The weather... but it has it's bad moments too.
Biggest Gobsmack:
...
...
...still leaves me that way.
Best Cats:
Rastus -> my cat. He will always be the best.
Youth Hostel Cat in Desden was very nice and well behaved. Sat next to me
when asked rather than on me.
Most Enjoyed Artist:
Did I enjoy an artist this year? ;] hahahaha... ok, that was a terrible
joke.
Yoshitaka Amano wins on that one... beautiful.
Best TV Show:
I hate TV... I did watch Dragon Ball Z, Powerpuff Girls and I am Weazel
tho....
Best Cinema:
Didn't see that much... I had the nicest time seeing "Chicken Run" tho.
Most Hated Subculture:
All of them -> subcultures seem like a weak excuse for people with no
personality. What?! Me?! Wearing black all the time?! I have no idea
what you mean....
Best Wank Fantasy:
1/2 came true... the best half of it.
Best Excuse for a Wandering Mind:
Melbourne.
Worst Hangover:
I forgot... Why would I bother remembering a hangover?! We'll say after the
first Rev I went to in December... that one hurt a lot.
Most Read Genre:
Modern fiction stuff....
Best Book:
The Manual [or How to Have a Number One the Easy Way] by Jim Cauty and Bill
Drummond.
[Thanks Rakehell!]
Best Newsgroup:

Hotstone, Trayce, Rakehell, Sevare.
Best Jukebox:
Craig from my old work who once DJ'd in Sydney.
Snog Quota for the Year:
6 or 7... I think...
Best Morning Person:
Best person to be with in the morning or person I met who coped best with
mornings? ..they're the same one anyway.
Most Appreciative Audience for my Music Collection:
None.. I am so outclassed on all sides on this one.
All I Want For Christmas Is:
More musical equipment... What I got were cd's and wombles books. Not too
far off.
Most Already-Missed-Too-Much:
Is missed WAY TOO MUCH for my own good... make it stop!!!
..and Melbourne. Melbourne was a big missed way too much last year.
Best Chocolate Bombs:
Only ever had one and it was at BV... Thanks to Jarod and Kage-Ryu for
that.
Most Oft-Stared-At Photo:
ex-Fiance with stuffed wombat... I miss that wombat.
Loveliest Married Couple:
Don't know any really...
Musical Instrument I Most NEED to Learn:
Noise generating equiment... the printing press is a good start, followed by
tv static and the lead angle grinder.
Saddest Losses:
One friend very recently who, despite what they say, I don't think will talk
to me much anymore... It hurts because I know I fucked up.
Saddest Moment:
Chinese New Year sitting in the dark in the middle of a forest a long long
way from anywhere.
Best Actor:
Ummmm... I don't really care for actors [male or female] too much...
Funkiest Dude:
Rakehell & Jarod share this one... both are too funky for this planet.
Nicest Fellow Misanthrope:
I've met to many nice people who have made it their mission to make me see
nice things in life... None of them seem to hate people as much as I. =]
Biggest "Ouch":
Finding out my ex was sleeping with her ex 2 days after we broke up after 3
1/2 years... It hurt at the time, now I wonder why it hurt at all.

Ritual. ...it was satisfying and in public.
Most Satisfying Private Moment:
...is private for a reason.
Biggest Oscars Disappointment:
Oscars?! What?! Who?! Anyone? This question makes my brain hurt...
Most Visited Website:
www.godisdead.com -> those free email sites tend to clock up the hits.
Prevailing Mood of the Year:
Curiosity.
Well... if that was a year then I'm done... Bring on the next one!!! More
fun, sadness, alcohol, embarrassment and memories to be had I think!
Kick arse.
