How will that help? Jetstar has an ABN yet still takes your money, cancels your flight, and refuses refunds even AFTER being told by DFT to do so! Pity they are a toothless tiger :-(
What!?!, the Internet has to be trusted as much as anyone else taking your
money!?! Whoda thunk it?
At least this lot now have one valuable life lesson - if they learn not to
be as stupid as most of their peers.

I think to have an Australian registered domain name .com.au, .net.au, and even .org.au you must have a registered company or ABN .org.au has to have an organisation registration number.
This web site if you notice is not Australian register but just a dot com site.
I'm not in favor of using an company operating in Australia that is not registered here.

To register one of these domain names you will need an ABN, an ACN, an Incorporated Association Number or your registered business's identification number."

Why do you think so many choose NOT to use a .au domain? Who wants to be controlled on the web by nanny state leftard control freaks? You even pay a bit more for the .au IIRC, for the privilege of them imposing rules on you. LOL!

And showing to the world that they are dealing with a legitimate australian business rather than some fly by night scammer.

Ah, you have a scam up your portal.
Possesing an ABN no way legitimises an organisation.
It means they will get pestered with BAS statements.
That's all.
