If you are asking that sort of question, then it might be better if you
don't upgrade to Ultimate.
Why not take your questions, pop it into Google and see what comes up?
BTW why do you think you need Ultimate for?
Yes, when you go from one pirated version to another you need to format the hard drive and
start again.
No, I did the upgrade, and it didn't even ask for my orig Win7 DVD. So
it is all there by default, you just have to unlock the extra
facilities via your new activation code. Well, that's the way it
worked for me. I had legal copies of both versions ...

Further, there is actually more reason to fresh install, these days, than in
previous Windows where you didn't want to lose your crap. Windows Easy
Transfer makes it a hell of a lot easier to fresh install yet still have all
your crap come back the way you had it. Even if you use XP there is a
Windows Easy Transfer you can download for it, run it and save the mig file
to some other device then fresh install W7 and then just run Windows Easy
Transfer on your fresh W7 and import everything.
Oh and just for the record, if you have Vista and upgrade instead of fresh
install and you have been using Windows Mail, be prepared to lose all your
email. If you ARE using Vista and Windows mail, either go by Outlook 2007 or
download the 60 day trial and then import everything into Outlook 2007
first. Everything comes back fine if you do that.
