When I transfer files using W7 OS it seems to clogg up and becomes very
slow in those transfers.

Say from thumb drive/memory card to C:. small files of 5Mb . seems to
have a very slow transfer rare with anything over 100/200Mb plus total.

All USB2 devices

Downloading pictures off memory card to HDD.

Any posible hints to speed up the transfer or a cause?

Could the virus checker be the cause?? But had no problems with XP with
the same virus checkers etc.

thanks

So who said Flash, SD/HD cards were fast.

Writing to these is even slower, if set for quick removal and
are probably formatted using plain old FAT

I didn't say they were fast.I only mentioned that so as to discount
using USB1 could be the problem.

I was comparing the download results of the same card and two operating
systems xp/W7.

The format is either FAT or FAT32. There lies another problem in
formatting them with W7 can't do a full format shows problems yet XP can
do it easily.

Now you mention it and more thoughts I wonder if W7 has problems
handling FAT and FAT32 formatted storage devices.
