Hi peoples

I have an venerable G4 that could use a little help with MIDI, and so I
thought I'd see about this card.

In the US, it costs $29.95. But in good old Oz? You guessed it, a mere
$77.

Naturally we expect to be ripped off - by our own people. Thanks guys.

So I thought: Hey ... I wonder if someone has one they don't need.

Just a thought. Wanna play Santa for me? (key of B flat)

Dammit, have a Great Chrissy anywaze.

epowermac sells this for $59 + P&H, a little cheaper than $77 but still
not "cheap". I've used "no-name" brands OK.

YW. If you decide to try a cheap no-name, check the main chipset on
the card. Look for "NEC D720101GJ".
I have two USB 2 PCI cards currently in a G4, ones a Belkin 3 port
and the other a generic 5 port USB card. Both have the same NEC
chipset. Both work fine in Mac OS 9.x - OS X 10.4.x in this old Mac.
No 3rd party drivers were required other than the USB card drivers
supplied by Apple for Mac OS 8.6 - 9.2.2 and OS X installs its own.

The generic card I think I paid no more than $15 for it (about 3
years ago from a computer fair).
