"PRIME Minister Julia Gillard will commit to Labor having 12 per cent of
federal public servants regularly ''teleworking'' from home by 2020"

http://www.theage.com.au/opinion/political-news/more-to-work-online-says-pm-20121111-296hv.html

Another promise pushed into the dim distant future where anything is
possible (if it weren't for that debt eh?).

"At present, only about 4 per cent of the public service does so.
''Teleworking'' is operating from home for one or more days a week,
using high-speed broadband".

ROTFL, so 4% of public servants use cable and the 12% will have to rely
on ADSL!!!

Bejesus, the most expensive civil servants in the world will cost even more
as they use the $100bn NBN to not do the work they were not doing in
an office.

The use of "working" in "Teleworking" and civil servants is a bit of a leap
of imagination too.

A cynic might say that there will be no practical distinction between a
public servant and a dole recipient.

If Wong guarantees 'no job losses' and Swan wants to boast about low
'unemployment', this is their plan - pay you to stay at home.

(ALP morons)

Just received:

"Work anywhere: Australia’s first national teleworking week starts today

Today marks the start of Australia’s first ever national teleworking
week running 12-16 November in what’s anticipated to be an annual
initiative to help increase the number of Australians engaged in
telework from 6% to 12% by 2020".

Result?
"The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has
occurred".

Using, the NBN workers will stay at home when the NBN takes a sickie.

Result?
Works fine.

Conclusion?
Stick to mobile, it is more reliable (especially with Gillard's gang
taking over the internet)

That cant happen, as one day a month the civil servant will have to
attend "the office" - to wipe all the dust off their desk and answer
snail mail inquiries for all those who cant afford the NBN.
