I have rediscovered newsgroups! I have not been on usenet since like 1998 or
so.
Is anyone here into Jaguar cars?
My wife Ermintrude and I will drive nothing else, they are superb.
I have a 1989 DS420, a 1969 XJ6 manual with overdrive and triple SUs, and
Ermintrude drives a nice 1964 MkX. Big car for a big woman, but I love her.
Benita
You'll need to speak to the resident loony, Ron Mcgrice. I had his wife bent
over the kitchen table rooting her from behind. During foreplay I put 16
oysters up her cunt and sucked out 17.

You must tollerate fools well :-)
Ron
Thank you, stupid yes, brains no!
Most people have a hobby, just because you do not agree with it, is a
personal thing. I for one would not be bothered fucking around with old
Falcons.
Reminds me, last year a young guy who was into equally as dangerous cars
(EJ Holden), was killed when the drum braked pulled to one side on a wet
road, and sent the poor bugger into a bridge pole. The steering assembly
went straight through his chest.

If you can't say something that nice then do say something thats witty. :-p
Caused by an oil slick left by a Jag no doubt.
In any case, you are supposed to drive to the conditions presented to you
taking into account the age of the vehicle and mechanical condition as well
as weather and road condition, fatigue, etc...
It's a bit like blaming guns for killing people, isn't it Ronnie?
Thank you for you kind words. What is wrong with Serialpest and Atec?
How quick are they to 100kmh?

Atec is all right pesty (serialpest) is obsessed with Magna's and
continually posts shit here that no one really gives a shit about. Also
he is a grade F bullshit artist. Not even worth responding to his posts
at all really. And you owning a Jag is an open target for Pesty as well.

Fool or no fool, its a game. You see, the people that "appear" to take the
most offence to him, continue to this day to reply... WTF?
Whilst pesty may or may not be funny, the replies that come flooding in
certainly are. If the majority of people here think he is a troll, then why
do they keep replying to him?
I'll admit, pesty is not on the ball as of late. He still hasn't mentioned
the fatal in Perth caused by a driver of a stolen Commodore.
He's probably out washing and waxing his VN.
Jaguar people are not normal though, so not much weight in that arguement.
Make it an XP Falcon and add an older style Jeep :-)

Oh, right.
Well, if I ever have a prang in it, I'll keep that in mind. Personally, I

it was "safe".

*shrug*
I have never had such dramas. Keep the cooling system in good order, with
good quality, fresh coolant, and they are great! Be slack about this and you
will have problems, sure, but the manufacturer made maintenance requirements
clear when the cars were new! Gearboxes are bullet proof BW units and as you
know, the IRS/differential is excellent. SU carbies are no problem at all,
provided the shafts are not worn.
Never had any electrical gremlins other than a faulty headlight relay and a
crook alternator.

Here's the funny thing I'll never get about gay people:
Why the fuck do they think the rest of the world gives a toss about their
sexual preference?
I mean, as much as I enjoy the company of large hootered women who can suck
start a big block, I'm highly unlikely to crop my hear, start wearing
flannelette shirts and host a mardi-gra or "special olympics" just to let
everyone know about it :)
For fuck's sake.....
Why do so many minority groups feel that the rest of the world needs to see
them as something special....

Maybe I have not timed it its probably a smidgen slower than the
sprintex manga. If so it won't be for long as soon as I put in that LS1
edit PCM in friday and book in for a decent zort system to be fitted
during next week. But seriously I would of though a Magna with AWD and a
blower it would do mid 6's or even better.

Don't need to, my Jaguars are VERY safe :-)
Regards,
Ron
With all due respect, you must be a pretty crappy mechanic, or at the very
least, insensitive to variances between marques. I'm DIY and have come
across many other Jaguar people over the years, and all agree, Jaguar
reliability comes down completely to maintenance and the ability/knowledge
of the person who looks after them!
Sure, keep old coolant in them and the head studs will snap, you will lose
water, and you will crack the block. I have heard countless stories from
people detailing how they had the head rebuilt only to have it blow again in
short order due invariably to a cracked or sagging block. Siamesed bores.
Fit stepped liners, $700, and it'll last forever.
This was, after all, an exceptionally reliable, Le Mans winning engine.
All comes down to maintenance.. and when shit happens, knowing how to deal
with it properly. The Jaguars have always served us admirably.
Benita
As a lesbian, I beleive that anything which raises awareness lets the flag
wavers out in full force, which just reinforces all the negative
stereotypes. Same deal for shows like Queer As Folk.
Benita
> Don't need to, my Jaguars are VERY safe :-)
Yeah, well, if a car spends 99% of it's time sitting in a garage, it's
*very* safe :)
--

Noddy.
Wrong on both counts darls.
I'm DIY and have come

Jaguar people are typically completely one eyed and don't even recognise
that their heaps
of shit need more maintenance to keep them on the road then virtually any
other make.

More maintenance then normal people would be prepared to put up with.
Back in the garage again...

No offence (well, alright, *lots* of offence :), but a comment like this
could only be made by someone who hasn't got as much "Jaguar" experience as
they'd like to think.
For many years Jaguar have made *appalling* engines with equally appalling
reliability records, they're made from some of the shittiest quality
materials you can find, and are one of the most difficult and annoying
vehicles to work on imaginable.
About the only thing Jaguar have done that would be considered good over the
years is to make Jaguar repair specialists very wealthy :)

Yeah, big deal. So was a Ford V8, which only goes to show if you're
persistant and throw enough money at something, you can get it do do
whatever you like.
The similarities between a Le Mans winning Jag engine and the one in your
car are very few indeed.

Maintenance can't cure shit quality and bad design, no matter how often you
do it.
